Silviana was the Mistress of the Novices in the White Tower after Sheriam and after the Tower was divided following Elaida's ascension to the position of Amyrlin Seat. She was just as tough, if not tougher, than Sheriam. When Egwene was captured, Silviana disciplined her every day by order of Elaida. During these times, Silviana's respect for Egwene grew, until she was finally willing to listen to what Egwene had to say. Silviana eventually joined Egwene in her attempt to remove Elaida from power.
