Question Action
But if [Rand] finds, because Galad is his half brother and also Elayne's half brother, won't he find anything wrong with that?
No. The way the mother-father relationship works is different. He has a blood relationship to Galad. He has no blood relationship to Elayne. None. At least not close enough to be counted by anybody except by how many lines of connection you have to the family of Andor.

If Rand's mother isn't Aiel, was she formerly Queen of Andor?

The reason that Morgase got her throne was because she was the most closely related to Tigraine?
That's part of it. You gotta be closely related to put in a claim. After that it becomes political. In a way almost like... More like a republic than a democracy in that the electorate is limited. And in this case, the electorate is limited to the nobles. How many nobles can you get to support you. And she was able to get enough, finally, after something very close to a civil war to gain the throne.

Is there anything you can tell us about Taim's choice to head to Andor after his escape?
Well, he really didn't have much other choice. He's a man who can channel. At that time, as far as he knows, any Aes Sedai that gets their hands on him will try to gentle him again. But the word is getting around: there are men gathering near Caemlyn, men just like him, and maybe there are enough of them that if they stick together the Aes Sedai will not be able to take them down. So he has no other choice. He can either spend a life on the run or he can enlist. He decided to enlist.

Did Taim have motives for coming to Andor after he escaped the Aes Sedai?
Ta-eem, (he said it phonetically) sure, he is a man who can channel. The Aes Sedai see him as a man who can channel. They will hunt him down and gentle him if they can. He has one safe haven in the world. A place were there are more men like him. Just maybe, if there are enough men like him, the Aes Sedai wont be able to come after him.

What is the currency break down for Wheel of Time? How many coppers make up a silver penny? How many silver pennies equal a silver mark? How many silver marks make up a gold mark?
This varies from country to country, along with the sizes and weights of the various coins, the reason that bankers and others - such as Bran al'Vere - use scales for comparing coins. The heaviest coins in weight of precious metal come from Andor and Tar Valon. For the coins of those two, the scale is very simple. Ten copper pennies = one silver penny. One hundred silver pennies = one silver mark. Ten silver marks = one silver crown. Ten silver crowns = one gold mark. Ten gold marks = one gold crown. As an example of other countries' currencies, the scale for Altara, where the weight of silver or gold in larger coins is less than that in Andor or Tar Valon, is this: Ten copper pennies = one silver penny. Twenty-one silver pennies = one silver mark. Twenty silver marks = one silver crown. Twenty silver crowns = one gold mark. Twenty gold marks = one gold crown.
