Once a nation of the Borderlands, Malkier lay north of Shienar and Arafel. Its banner was the Golden Crane. It was swallowed by the Blight in 955 NE. The nation of Malkier was formed early in the War of the Hundred Years. The governors of Hawkwing's five northern provinces met and agreed to form stable nations to preserve the peace and defend against the Blight. Shevar Jamelle was the first King of Malkier. Location Malkier was located in the far northeast of the Westlands. Malkier was ruled by al'Akir Mandragoran when it was overrun. His son Lan would have been king of Malkier.

Possible political use later. You've got somebody who is related to the royal family of Malkier, and you can raise him exactly the way you want...you can instill whatever belief system you want. He's a blank slate and he might be a very powerful tool. |

In New Spring there were still a lot of them, but nowadays Lan is the only one around: how's that possible? Did they all die?
No, it's a matter of assimilation. All these people now think of themselves as part of the country they live in, they've taken on these new cultures. Lan is the only one who hasn't done this, who at heart remains a Malkieri. |
